This depiction of Mary Magdalene is original, and very much from the heart.
Credit: Mary Magdalene was largely referenced from St. Mary Magdalene, by Carlo Dolci, mid-1640s.
“Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”
-Luke 7:47
Our place is at the Feet of the Crucified.
The rose represents the bloom of Mary Magdalene’s love – watered by His Precious Blood – and made all the more beautiful and fragrant because it was late in coming.
The greatest tragedy possible in a human life is to let that Precious Blood fall to the ground unused.
Mary Magdalene teaches us how to gather that Sacred Flood, Turning even our sins and infidelities into gain…by loving much.
